Nurture authentic relationship by sharing joyful moments of childhood
February often has an extra special focus on emotions related to loving connection through the celebration of Valentine’s Day. In this Call to The Circle, we invite CoCreators to connect with the kids in our lives by reflecting on and sharing our own favorite parts of childhood. This is a simple and fun way to explore positive emotions and nurture authentic relationship.
Science has shown that awareness is a foundational social-emotional skill and that self-reflection is a tool for developing that awareness. Reflecting on this question gives us the opportunity to surface joyful - and perhaps other - emotions related to our own childhoods.
Enjoy what fellow CoCreators share as the favorite parts of their childhoods. We hope their beautiful memories support you as you approach your own self-reflection.
CoCreator Invitation
Take a few minutes for this self-reflection, “What was my favorite part of childhood?” and then share your memories, and the emotions related to them, with a child in your life.
You might consider taking a walk with a child and sharing your memories and asking them what is the favorite part of their days or you could write your memories down and share them with a special child in your life.
Let us know how you created your own fun with this activity and please share:
What comes up for you and how it may be informing how you shape childhood experiences for kids in your life?
What did you learn from the kids you shared with?
And, how did the exchange help you nurture authentic relationship?
